Amazon.com's Kindle DX: The E-Book Reading Solution For Seniors

I've sent the following suggestion to both Amazon.com and AARP.

The new amazon.com 'Kindle DX (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0015TCML0/) Wireless Reading Device, with 9.7" Display', would be helpful to countless seniors who have diminishing vision (the reader also includes audio book capability). I think AARP and Amazon.com should team up to offer a discounted "Senior-Friendly Kindle DX" through AARP. I believe, once the senior community learns about the Kindle DX, the market for this vision-assistance product will expand exponentially. I will be buying one of these for my mother (91 years old) who lives with my wife and I (we are both AARP members). Thank you for considering this idea.

Let's pass along this idea, turn it into a senior's consumer campaign. All of us can benifit: AARP, Amazon.com, the ebook publishing industry, and all us senior citizens. A classic win-win effort!

Working on the final book of the The KillWare Chropnicles, book III "The Accidental Prisoner" -- here at the secret cabin, Lake Chelan. Jan is here too, writing and painting (or drawing, to be technical). Hope to finish the first draft! The God of serious art...and not so serious?...only knows. Back in town mid-July. Stay tuned!

Congratulations to our new President, Barack Obama!

When I wrote my review of The Audacity Of Hope last summer, I could not know that today Obama would stand as our new president. Over the past six months, I must admit, blogging has been low on my priority list while I'm working to finish KillWare III: The Accidental Prisoner -- very close now. BUT...I had to blog-in today, while here on my main computer writing away on my book and watching on my laptop next to me the 2009 Obama Inauguration on streaming video at http://inaugural.senate.gov/history/video/video-2009-obama.cfm
Hope everyone else is enjoying this historic event: may the God of serious art and vindicated justice watch over all attending and participating in Washington D.C.

Postscript: Inauguration over. Bravo! A great moment in space-time. From Lincoln to Obama, one great truth shined today: racism and "Arian" supremicist terrorism has been delt the final deathblow; if nothing else, this will be a lasting legacy of our 44th president. As well, it is clear the prayer required for the coming days is that President Obama may successfully translate his eloquent words and ideals, his integrety and good intentions into the kinds of changes of which he spoke in The Audacity Of Hope. May God have mercy.

I read Obama's The Audacity Of Hope and found it very interesting, and especially helpful as I try to understand the elections this coming November. It was an especially exciting book for me, because it is not often one gets to read a book written by a presidential candidate before he or she began the bid for the White House. I encourage everyone to read this book this summer, whether you're thinking of voting for Obama or for someone else. Do keep in mind, The Audacity Of Hope was written a few years ago; therefore, after you finish the book, learn more about Obama's views and thoughts by reading and listening to his recent press statements and speeches.See my review of The Audacity Of Hope here (PDF): Audacity Of Hope.
