Jerry George: a Renaissance man of great computer art skill and great compassion for those in the world who suffer; never a respecter of persons but always a respecter of the search for truth with integrity and humor.
After chatting about RAM memory chips, troubleshooting a friend's computer, pouring over CMYK color output issues for a book cover for Scandia Patch Press, or taking a break from chopping wood or painting some old exterior structure somewhere, after such things Jerry and I would often talk philosophy, theology, cosmology, art, life. He was never uncomfortable if I shared some mystic Christian faith experience with him -- he always listened, challenged, proved himself open to new ideas or odd old traditions. Whether Soren Kierkegaard, cybernetics, or fine craftsmanship, there was never a dull moment in our conversations.
A true cyber-Socrates.
And a true friend.
I will miss him, as will many throughout the world.
May the God who watches over our garbage dumps and orphanages and beautiful-broken planet bless dear earthbrother Jerry in his new place, in his change of life.
Shalom,
